Timothy B. Prakope, Esq

Mr. Prakope is a devoted husband, father and attorney. On his free time, he loves to swim and fish in his hometown of Rockaway Beach. After a long day at the shore, he enjoys his second favorite pastime, grilling and playing games with his family.

Timothy Prakope is an experienced trial litigator practicing in the fields of personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, and other complex litigation. Through law school and for several years after graduation, he honed his litigation skills with a large insurance defense firm in New York defending doctors, architects, engineers, nursing homes, large commercial contractors and other professionals. In 2012, he left the legal field of insurance defense work and joined a proud group of attorneys representing primarily plaintiffs who were seriously injured as a result of someone else’s negligence.

In 2015, after working for a small plaintiff’s law firm in Garden City, Tim joined his associate from law school at what is now Weber & Prakope, PLLC. Tim is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and of the American Association for Justice, a national association of trial attorneys.

Tim has successfully litigated all types of cases including slip and fall cases, construction and worksite accident cases, motor vehicle accident cases, product liability cases, medical malpractice cases, multi-district mass tort litigation, and other general negligence cases. Tim takes great pride in encompassing all aspects of a case into consideration when planning for the best outcome which includes resolving issues that arise not related to the underlying accident. Tim has obtained significant recoveries on behalf of his clients through thoughtful planning, meticulous attention to detail, skilled negotiating tactics and old-fashioned hard work.

When not in the court room, Tim enjoys competitive sports, coaching little league and junior basketball, golf, and spending time with his wife and four children at their home in Brooklyn.
